FOOTBALL BETTING: Sam Tomlinson previews this weekends’s football league action and is forecasting wins for Newcastle, Reading, Bristol City, Leeds, Southend and Hereford.
Third-placed Nottingham Forest have lost their last seven league matches on the road, failing to score in five of those contests and punters can cash-in on their travel sickness by backing Bristol City at 2/1 with bet365 to see off Billy Davies’ men at Ashton Gate.
The Robins are in decent shape at present; since changing managers they have drawn with leaders Newcastle before seeing off Barnsley and Peterborough and there seems little reason why they are priced as high as they are.
If City prevail, a victory for Newcastle will see the Magpies promoted and Chris Hughton’s side are a safe-looking 3/5 with Betdaq to keep up their side of the bargain while elsewhere in the Championship, in-form Reading catch the eye at 15/8 (Betfred) to triumph at patchy Ipswich and Victor Chandler’s 5/1 outsiders Crystal Palace appeal at 6/5 with Stan James when kicking off with a goal start.
In League One, faltering Leeds showed a slight improvement at Norwich despite going down 1-0 and they can get back to winning ways at home to Swindon; a result Paddy Power offer at 10/11 and struggling Southend (5/4, Totesport) can bag a crucial maximum haul at home to Yeovil.
Finally, at 6/5 courtesy of 888Sport, Hereford are the stand out bet in League Two; their home form enough to see them overcome Barnet at Edgar Street.
