DARTS BETTING: Live On Sky Sports 1: Thur 19:00 Week 11 of the Darts Premier League comes from the Liverpool Echo Arena, where Phil Taylor faces Simon Whitlock.
Terry Jenkins v Ronnie Baxter:
Terry Jenkins managed to halt a bad losing streak in Sheffield last week with a win over Adrian Lewis and is 13/8 with Victor Chandler to beat Ronnie Baxter to make it back to back wins for the first time this year.
Baxter can be backed at 5/4 with 888sport and should win here, keeping him in the hunt for a playoff place.
James Wade v Raymond Van Barneveld:
Barney’s run is now 4 straight defeats but he showed signs of class last week in coming from 6-1 down to 7-6 down against Simon Whitlock. He desperately needs points but his playoff hopes are just about over. Barneveld is 13/5 with Totesport to beat Wade. Wade, whilst 6th in the table, is only 2 points off 4th place and will be encouraged by his draw with Taylor last week. He will really be pushing now for the top 4 and 5/6 with Betdaq.
Adrian Lewis v Mervyn King:
Adrian Lewis will want to put last week’s defeat to Jenkins behind him and take advantage of a stuttering King. King has only won one of the last 6 matches and yet retains 2nd place, albeit with 2 other players. King is 5/4 with bet365 while Lewis is a slightly longer 6/4 with Stan James.
Phil Taylor v Simon Whitlock:
Taylor is once again odds on fav but 1/2 (Boylesports) would suggest the bookies have a justified respect for the Aussie thrower Simon Whitlock. Whitlock cab be backed as long as 9/2 with Betdaq but he has won just as many games in the last 4 rounds as Taylor. Punters might be worried about his near collapse against Barneveld last week though.
Overall:
With 4 games to play, 8 possible points up for grabs, Taylor is 1/3 with Ladbrokes to win. With three players on 11 points and two more on 9 points, it’s wide open for the remaining three playoff places.
