Last week’s race was the Scottish Grand National at Ayr, won by 18/1 fancy Merigo, ridden by Timmy Murphy. Gone To Lunch was second at 15/2 and No Panic third at 40/1.
No-one managed to select all 3 horses last time but James Roddie did manage to pick Merigo to come 1st, landing him 36 points. However, Mike Hanson, Steve Purdy and Anne Cairns all top scored this week on 40 points after selecting No Panic. Michael Collins is top of monthly leaderboard for April on 70.5 pts, with Richard Halliday jumping into 2nd on 66.5 points and Donald Priest Snr in third on 56 pts.
In the overall standings, none of the top 3 prior to the weekend managed to pick up any points at all so James Roddie jumps into 1st with 222.3 points. Mary McIlroy is 2nd with 196.64 and Andrew Steele is close 3rd with 194.89.
