Mark Selby has been installed as 11/10 (Victor Chandler) Championship favourite after his dramatic come back against Ronnie O’Sullivan last night. That show of character against the previous fav stands him in good stead and the bookies think he can carry this momentum all the way.
Selby will now meet the unseeded Graeme Dott who has done fantastically well. Dott again defied the odds to beat Allen and is 5/2 with Betfred for yet another ‘surprise’ victory. However, the other three players in the tournament are very strong and Boylesports make Dott 13/2 outsider for the championship.
Selby is 4/11 with BetDaq to progress here and rightly so, he can carry his form over and progress comfortably.
Davis was well beaten by Robertson in the quarters and the Aussie has been installed as 8/13 fav (Blue Square) to win in the semi against Ali Carter. Carter can be backed at 6/4 with Betdaq.
