POLITICS BETTING: Bookmakers across the UK have seen massive money movement on the Conservative Party to win this year’s General Election. Check latest election odds.
A surge of bets over the back end of the Bank Holiday saw the odds fall from in the region of 5/4 to 5/6 with William Hill, for a Conservative majority.
A Hung Parliament, which was available as short as 1/2 before Saturday, is now 10/11 with Boylesports. Labour’s chances are all but dashed; the 35/1 offered by Bet365 for a Labour majority would indicate the public have had enough of Gordon Brown. Lib Dem are 66/1 with Paddy Power for a majority despite the fact it is their surge in popularity that may cause a Hung Parliament.
The Conservatives have been shortened further to win the most seats and at 2/15 (Sportingbet), it would seem a foregone conclusion.
The trio of TV debates has certainly sparked more election fever than in recent history and 888sport offer 11/4 on a 70%+ turnout figure in the polls. This is very high but there have been extra pushes by various councils to get people registered.
