Paul Ferguson has two selections on Friday, Alex My Boy in the Musselburgh 16:00 and Marshall Jennings in the Haydock 18:20. Compare odds and bet.
After appearing to relish the step up to this trip at Haydock last time Alex My Boy (16:00) is fancied to make the most of his 13lb weight-for-age allowance and follow up in Musselburgh’s Acherfield Cup on Friday.
Mark Johnston’s three-year-old won his maiden at the track back in April and, if the Dalakhani colt is to be seriously considered for the St Leger at Doncaster next month, he needs to be taking care of today’s 10 opponents.
The same owner provided us with a winner last night, in the shape of Sandown scorer Prince Of Stars, and Alex My Boy can make it a good couple of days for Jaber Abdullah. The day’s first selection opened up at 6/4 with Paddy Power this morning.
Later on, Richard Hannon’s Marshall Jennings (18:20) should prove hard to beat in Haydock’s 6f two-year-old maiden.
The Lawman colt has twice shaped well over 7f and, with the drop the slight drop in trip unlikely to inconvenience him, Sean Levey’s mount ought to go one better in what looks an easier contest.
Friday’s selections:
16:00 Musselburgh: Alex My Boy; 6/4 Paddy Power
18:20 Haydock: Marshall Jennings; 8/15 Skybet
