FORMULA ONE BETTING: Mark Webber claimed victory in a Red Bull one-two in Monte Carlo. Hamilton managed 5th but Button barely started after a lap 2 retirement.
Mark Webber stormed to his 2nd consecutive win and the 4th of his career to claim the 25 points which puts him equal top of the Driver’s Championship. He and Sebastien Vettel are both on 78 points but Vettel is still fav at 7/4 with William Hill. Webber has moved in to 13/5 with Boylesports after he showed a winning pedigree.
Alonso performed excellently to finish 6th after he started 24th (last) on the grid and he is a reasonable 4/1 with Bet365 to win overall. The main problem for Ferarri is the sheer pace of the Red Bull car, despite Alonso probably being the most technically gifted driver in F1.
Button (retired lap 2) and Hamilton (5th) have all the work to do as it appears Red Bull are tightening their grip on the title and the Constructor’s Championship. The British drivers are 14/1 (Stan James) and 7/1 (SkyBet) respectively.
Red Bull’s presence on pole for every race has seen them extend their lead at the top of the Constructor’s Championship and they are now just 1/2 with Betdaq to claim the team title.
