GOLF BETTING: Live On Sky Sports 1 & 2: Thu 10:00 & 20.00 Angus Loughran previews this week’s BMW PGA Championship and the Byron Nelson C’ship and flags up his best bets for each tournament.
The BMW at Wentworth is Englands only big time Golf event in 2010 and Ernie Els, who has mastermined many changes at Wentworth, is 14/1 to finally win a stroke play event at Wentworth after so much success in World Matchplay.
There have been so many changes made by Els ahead of this weeks BMW with the greens a vast improvement, while the 12th hole is now no longer a par 5 but a long par 4 reducing the par to 71 from 72. The 18th is now a risk reward par 5 with a stream guarding the green and only the bold will attempt the green in 2.
I like the chances of Charl Schwartzel. At 25/1 the young South African has really impressed me this season and it is no fluke he is 2nd in current Race To Dubai behind Ian Poulter.
Padraig Harrington has never had the best of times at Wentworth and goes in to hospital for some minor surgery next week but his game is not in bad shape at present and he is also a big price at 25/1.
Hunter Mahan is the class act at 16/1 in Byron Nelson while Heath Slocum appeals at 33/1 in what looks amighty competetive heat in Texas.
