Following their World Cup final victory over Argentina, Germany are 20/1 with Ladbrokes to win both Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup.
Mario Gotze’s extra-time winner saw Joachim Low’s side crowned world champions in Brazil and bookies believe it could lead to a period of international football dominance for Die Mannschaft.
Indeed, Ladbrokes make Germany the 10/3 joint favourites, alongside Spain, for France 2016 while they are also the 11/2 market leaders for the 2018 World Cup, with beaten finalists Argentina next in the betting for Russia at 7/1. Lionel Messi meanwhile, is 1/10 to never win the World Cup in his career.
Alex Donohue of Ladbokes told Betrescue: “It’s been a wonderful World Cup as far as we’re concerned. Brazil 2014 always promised to be the biggest and best we’ve ever known and it didn’t disappoint.”
He added: “Germany’s extra time win was great news for the bookies and turnover numbers – especially in digital – were terrific. We’ve no complaints whatsoever although if we were being greedy we’d have preferred to see Rooney rather than Messi licking his cup final wounds.”
