FORMULA ONE BETTING: Live on BBC1: Sun 12.10 Hamilton is bullish ahead of the Turkish GP but only one Bull is going to succeed on this track. Compare odds
Both Red Bull drivers, Webber and Vettel, now sit atop the Driver’s Championship on 78 points with Alonso back in 3rd on 75 points. Simply put, that is how the Turkish GP will finish.
Red Bull have started on pole in every race and now Webber is converting those into wins. Monaco was a place where the technically gifted were expected to overturn Red Bull’s power but they still claimed a one-two finish. Admittedly, Hamilton crashed on the penultimate lap whilst in 2nd and Alonso didn’t post a qualifying lap, meaning he had to start in 24th but the facts don’t lie, the Red Bull boys still won.
Unfortunately for everyone else, it’s difficult to see anything apart from a Red Bull pole, the long sweeping Turkish track repaying brute force. Its a battle between Webber and Vettel for pole, Vettel is 11/8 fav with Betfred, Webber 15/8 with 888sport. It’s very difficult to see Alonso’s Ferrari being able to keep up, he is 8/1 with Bluesquare for pole.
As for the race, Vettel is 2/1 (Sportingbet) to claim the win and Webber 11/4 (betfred) to make it a hattrick after completing his first ever back to back at Monaco. It’s a bit of a toss up between the two but Webber can carry on his success to reach the flag first.
Alonso is probably the best driver in the championship and it’s between him and Hamilton for the other podium place. Whilst Hamilton is bullish about the McClaren’s chances, Alonso is a truly gifted driver and either his 7/1 to win or 6/5 for a podium finish with 888sport should provide returns.
Webber is currently 3/1 for the championship with Betdaq but expect that to be shorter come Sunday evening.
