Live on Sky Sports 4: Thu 14:30 & 21:00 Angus Loughran previews the Russian Open, Canadian Open & Senior Open.
Rory Mcllroy was a worthy winner of last week’s Open Championship and is top price 15/2 to follow up in the season’s final Major; the USPGA Championship at Valhalla next month. He is also the 8/1 market leader to complete a ‘Grand Slam’ by landing the 2015 Masters.
The market for the low-key Russian Open on the European Tour is headed by 16/1 shots Rikard Karlberg and Scott Jamieson but I’m siding with David Horsey at 25/1.
There’s a great field meanwhile, in the Canadian Open, where Charl Schwartzel has a big chance at 20/1 and Hunter Mahan looks overpriced at 33/1.
It is no suprise that Jim Furyk heads the market here at 12/1 followed by Dustin Johnson at 14/1 given that both played really well at Hoylake last weekend.
A stellar line-up assembles for the Senior Open Championship and Miguel Angel Jiminez at 5/1 will be hard to beat at Royal Porthcawl.
Bernhard Langer and Colin Montgomorie will also fancy their chances at 6/1 apiece as will popular pick Fred Couples available at 11/1 and 22/1 shot Tom Watson who closed his Open Championship with an impressive 68.
Those looking for a value bet here finally, could do a lot worse than Peter Senior, available at a tasty 50/1 in what looks a tremendous event in South Wales.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
