Live on ITV & BBC1: Jun 12-Jul 13: Skybet quote 11/2 for World Cup Group H to produce 0-10 goals in total.
On paper Belgium have one of the best squads in the World Cup and it’s no surprise to see bookies taking notice of the number of recognisable names available to Marc Wilmots, Skybet installing them as odds-on favourites at 8/11 to top Group G.
However, outstanding players are not necessarily a guarantee of success and a lack of recent tournament experience – they haven’t qualified for once since the 2002 World Cup – makes the Belgians a risky proposition at such a slender price.
They’re also hard to oppose though so it might just be worth giving them a wide berth in the first instance to see how they settle into things. The value in this pool then is elsewhere and indeed, at a slightly bigger 4/5 (Coral), Algeria are a better bet to finish bottom than Belgium are to finish first.
The North African outfit are 8/11 courtesy of Paddy Power to be the lowest scorers but they’re also pretty sound defensively and similarly, Belgium were solid at the back during qualifying but not as prolific as one might expect at the other end so this could be a group in which goals are at a premium.
Winner.com quote 19/20 for the six matches to generate fewer than 14.5 goals and for the bold an overall tally of 0-10 in Group H is 11/2 (Skybet).
