After showing a decent level of form in bumpers Gurkha Brave (6:40) shaped with promise on his debut over hurdles back in February and, back on better ground, Karen McLintock’s six-year-old is worth siding with at likely rewarding odds, in the 2m4f maiden hurdle at Southwell on Tuesday.
The Old Vic gelding got within a half-length of the useful It’s High Time back in December, with that rival going on to shape well in the Grade 2 at Aintree. The pick of his form comes on good ground and he looks capable of going well in an open looking contest.
