GOLF BETTING: Live On Skysports 3: Thu from 11:00: Angus Loughran previews this week’s Irish Open, Women’s British Open and Greenbrier Classic and flags up his best bets for the tournaments.
This weeks Irish Open looks very competetive and with scoring set to be low could easily lead to a shock winner. Rory MclLroy heads the market at 7/1 but looks plenty short enough to me while Padraig Harrington and US Open Champion Graeme McDowell are understandably popular with the punters. I expect Justin Rose to play well while Robert Rock should also be up there, while at 90/1 with Boylesports Matteo Mannesero who turned pro in May and has yet to miss a cut will be keen to show he was a wise choice for a sponsors invitation this week.
I like the chances of Paula Creamer at 16/1 in Women’s British Open at Birkdale this week while in the Greenbrier Championship in West Virginia Matt Kuchar at 16/1 would be my main selection. Those looking for outsiders with chances might like to take their chances on Chris Riley at 90/1 with Bet 365 and Kevin Sutherland at 80/1 with Ladbrokes.
