Football Betting: Charlton can run out emphatic winners against Oldham in League One, Southampton also look set to register a home victory and we also like the look of Carlisle and Yeovil.
It’s a case of second against first in League One this weekend, albeit after only a couple of games, as Charlton entertain Oldham at the Valley. The latter are the early pacesetters, having managed two wins but the Addicks, the only other team on six points, can leapfrog them at the top by sending them home empty-handed; a result 888Sport quote at 4/5 while Phil Parkinson’s men also appeal at 10/11 with bet365 to notch at least twice, following their three-goal haul at Leyton Orient.
Southampton are a home banker at 1/2 with Betfred as they host Leyton Orient and Alan Pardew’s Saints side look well placed to register a relatively comfortable triumph over the O’s; Paddy Power posting 13/10 against a victory by at least two clear goals.
Both Notts County and Sheffield Wednesday are odds-on at 5/6 with Partybets and Ladbrokes respectively to land three points at the expense of Dagenham and Brighton but those prices look plenty short enough in matches that perhaps don’t quite look as straightforward as the odds suggest.
Instead, Carlisle catch the eye at 11/8 courtesy of William Hill, to get the better of MK Dons at Brunton Park and relatively strong at Huish Park, Yeovil are a touch overpriced at 23/20 with Victor Chandler.
Brett Pitman meanwhile, could be on his way out of Bournemouth as Blackpool court his signature and if that deal goes through before the weekend it could have repercussions for the Cherries at Tranmere, where Ladbrokes’ 9/1 for it to finish goalless will suddenly look a whole lot more attractive.
Recommended Bets:
Charlton to score at least twice against Oldham – 10/11 (bet365)
Carlisle to beat MK Dons – 11/8 (William Hill)
Bournemouth v Tranmere to finish 0-0 – 9/1 (Ladbrokes)
