Darts Betting: Live Online at Pdc.tv: Tue 10.30: Top players battle it out as Championship League Darts begins over the next month. The Daily Star’s veteran sports writer KEVIN FRANCIS takes a look…
Phil Taylor and company are used to battling in front of thousands of fans around the UK in major PDC tournaments, but they will be playing behind closed doors for a £200,000 prize fund when Championship League Darts begins
on Tuesday.
The internet-streamed event sees eight groups of eight players compete during September and October with the Winners’ Group final on October 14. Phil Taylor, hardly surprisingly, is the 4/7 favourite with Blue Square to occupy the outright winner’s spot. But, with half-the-odds on first and second, it may well be worth a speculative each-way punt on a couple of throwers at much more appealing odds.
Here are my suggested bets: Simon ‘The Wizard’ Whitlock, who was beaten 7-3 by Taylor in this year’s World Championship, is a good EW 10/1 shot with
Victor Chandler, William Hill, 888sport and Sportingbet. Also, Colin Lloyd holds considerable each-way appeal at 40/1 with Victor Chandler, Sportingbet and Betfred.
Championship League Darts is streamed live around the world through 16 bookmakers’ websites, as well as to subscribers of the PDC’s official website, www.pdc.tv. Play takes place behind closed doors at Crondon Park GC
in Essex.
Cheers
Kevin
