Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Friday; Sign Of A Victory in the 2.10 at Ayr and Muwaary in the Newbury 3.40. Compare odds and bet.
Having skipped both Cheltenham and Aintree Sign Of A Victory (2:10) is taken to get Ayr’s Scottish Grand National meeting off to the perfect start for Nicky Henderson in the 2m West Sound Novices’ Hurdle.
The five-year-old heads north in search of a four-timer, having bolted up in a jumpers’ bumper and a couple of novice hurdles at Doncaster and Newbury.
The Kayf Tara gelding has much more on his plate this afternoon but, as long as the ground isn’t too soft, he is strongly fancied to take the step up in class in his stride. He is an exciting prospect and something like the Swinton Hurdle at Haydock could be on the agenda next month, should all go well here.
Down at Newbury the in-form John Gosden will be looking for another tonic ahead of tomorrow’s return of Kingman and Muwaary (3:40) can provide just that in the 7f handicap.
The Oasis Dream colt looked a useful prospect when winning a maiden over course-and-distance last July and, while he lacks a bit of experience, the 2,000 Guineas entry begins life in handicap company on a decent mark (82).
Friday’s selections:
2:10 Ayr: Sign Of A Victory 8/13 Skybet
3:40 Newbury: Muwaary; 11/4 William Hill
