Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Sunday; The Tullow Tank in the Leopardstown 2.15 and Chocala in the Exeter 2.25. Compare odds and bet.
It’s Hennessy Day over at Leopardstown on Sunday and, though the four Grade 1s have cut up a little (particularly the Dr PJ Moriarty Novice Chase), it should be a hugely informative card.
With the prospect of the extra couple of furlongs bringing about further improvement, I expect The Tullow Tank (2:15) to complete the hat-trick of Grade 1s in the Deloitte Novice Hurdle.
The six-year-old was impressive here over Christmas and is readily preferred over Vautour on all known form. At the time of writing, the selection was a best price 6/5 with Bet365.
On the domestic front Chocala (2:25) can get off the mark over hurdles at the second attempt, in the valuable Listed event at Exeter.
Alan King’s juvenile receives plenty of weight from his elders here and, given how he relished testing ground on the level, conditions ought to be fine. Having put him up earlier in the week for the Triumph (at 40-1) I have to hope he takes this under Robert Thornton.
Sunday’s selections:
2:15 Leopardstown: The Tullow Tank; 5/4 Coral
2:25 Exeter : Chocala; 6/4 Stan James
