Sat 15.00: Gillingham and Port Vale are overpriced in League One and combine in a tasty 9/1 double (BetVictor).
Swindon currently sit on the fringes of the League One play-off places so on the face of it they deserve to be favourites to get the better of patchy Gillingham. However the Robins, who do their best work at the County Ground, have a pretty dismal away record and they’re certainly not worth risking at 23/20 courtesy of bet365.
The formbook suggests the Gills are pretty inconsistent and that’s a fair assessment but delving a little deeper into their home performances offers up a few signs that they should prevail in this one.
They defeated promotion-chasing Wolves in their last Priestfield Stadium assignment, picked up a point against play-off contenders Walsall before that and almost did likewise against second-placed Leyton Orient.
They’re competing with the top teams on their own patch then and subsequently look huge at 27/10 via BetVictor to overcome Swindon.
Like Swindon, Oldham are pretty rotten away from home and with only one victory in their last eight in the league, the Latics look up against it at a solid Port Vale side. The Valiants have won their last two at Vale Park and they’re overpriced at 17/10 (William Hill) to make it three in a row in this one.
