Classic Move 11/10 @ Catterick

Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Friday; Classic Move in the catterick 14:45. Compare odds and bet.

The 2m3f EBF novices’ hurdle at Catterick on Friday was a warm event 12 months ago, with Get Back In Line, King Of The Wolds, Morning Royalty and Special Catch filling the first four places, and this year’s renewal sees two smart youngster clash.

Henry Daly’s Vice Et Vertu is arguably the nicest long-term prospect of the pair, as he looks a fine big chasing type, but Classic Move (2:45) might be a little more streetwise at this stage and can make the most of the 4lbs he receives from the likely market leader.

Donald McCain’s five-year-old finished third to Moyle Park at Punchestown before joining current connections and he has won twice since arriving in the UK, landing a Sedgefield bumper in October and a Bangor novice hurdle just before Christmas.

Sandwiched in between those victories was a decent effort in defeat at Haydock, when he was too keen for his own good.  Eventually third behind Spirit Of Shankly and River Don winner Urban Hymn, he won’t have an issue with conditions and looks sure to put up a bold show.

It is worth noting that he was entered in the novice hurdle at Cheltenham last weekend but, given his mark of 122, I’m not surprised connections have now turned their attention to the EBF route, with Sandown in March the obvious target after today.

Friday’s selection:
2:45 Catterick: Classic Move; 11/10 William Hill
