Steam into Stephen at 15/4

Live on Sky Sports 1: Sun 12.45: A Stephen Thompson goal (15/4, bet365) is one of four, Sunday Scottish Premiership selections.

Celtic remain unbeaten in the Premiership this season and although it seems likely that they’ll slip up at some point, punters will find it difficult to oppose Neil Lennon’s boys today given that they head to St Mirren on the back of eight consecutive league victories.

Indeed, in terms of away form, the Hoops have won nine of their ten assignments, conceding just six times in the process and on that basis it’s easy to see why Paddy Power make them just 1/3 to leave Paisley three points better off.

The champions didn’t concede a single league goal in December and continued that form into 2014 by edging out Partick 1-0 on New Year’s Day and there’ll be no shortage of punters backing Lennon’s troops at 6/5 with Ladbrokes to prevail ‘to nil’ for the seventh match on the spin.

However, the Buddies have found the net in their last three meetings with Celtic and as they have a reasonable goal record on their own patch this term, Danny Lennon’s men can get on the scoresheet in this one.

BetVictor’s 11/10 about both teams finding the net is worth an interest then and Stan James quote odds of 21/10 for the league leaders to come out on top but also concede at least once.

Winner.com chalk the Hoops up at 11/1 to finish on the right side of a 3-1 scoreline, in a clash that looks a banker at 3/4 (BetVictor) to produce three or more goals and in-form Celtic attacker Kris Commons is certain to attract cash at 11/10 with bet365 to contribute to that goal tally at some point.

However, Buddies front man Stephen Thompson is arguably the bet of the day at a much heftier 15/4 via bet365 to net at any time having struck seven times in his last eight home matches across all competitions.

At Tannadice, Skybet are a shade of odds-on at 19/20 about Dundee United securing all three points at the expense of Hibs but the Terrors are actually on the drift having lost three on the spin and after Terry Butcher’s men nicked it against neighbours Hearts in Thursday’s derby tussle, they’ve attracted support to the point where Betfred have clipped them to 10/3 to prolong United’s losing streak.

Hearts are still stuck on negative points following that Easter Road reverse but they’ll have few better chances to move into the positive as they host a Partick team without a win since mid-October. Nevertheless, the money at bet365 so far has all been for the Jags, trading at 5/4 at the time of writing and that means the Jambos might be a touch overpriced at 23/10 (BetVictor).

Finally, at Rugby Park, Aberdeen’s run of five victories in six attempts has made them the punters’ pick against Kilmarnock. They’re proving popular at 21/20 with Paddy Power and bet365 make them 11/4 to shade it by one.

Recommended Bets:
Stephen Thompson to score at any time – 15/4 (bet365)
Celtic to win and concede – 21/10 (Stan James)
Hearts to beat Partick – 23/10 (BetVictor)
Hibs to beat Dundee Utd – 10/3 (Betfred)
