Naas stages a decent card on Sunday, with the pick of the action being the Grade 2 Slaney Novice Hurdle and the 2m-novice chase.
Many will be looking to Willie Mullins to provide them with a short-priced double in those events, courtesy of Champion Bumper winner Briar Hill and Mozoltov (both were trading at 1-2 last night), and both races should be watched closely with later in the season in mind.
Mullins saddles Chiltern Hills in the mares’ beginners’ chase, but she is taken on with Aibrean (2:30) who represents in-form trainer, Stuart Crawford, who has saddled 6 winners from 11 runners since Boxing Day.
The 10-year-old shaped well in a decent handicap hurdle when returning to action recently and also showed promise on the second of her chase starts last season, when runner-up to the useful Upsilon Bleu at Carlisle in March.
A former winning pointer and a three-times scorer over hurdles, the daughter of Winged Love certainly has races in her over fences, despite her advancing years, and this looks a good opportunity, especially with her stable in such good form.
