Live on SS2 & BT2: Sat 12.15 & 17.30: An Inverness win over Aberdeen and a 10/1 (bet365) draw double are among our Scottish picks.
It’s top against bottom as Celtic entertain Hearts in the early kick-off. Few would bet against the hosts taking maximum points here but a victory for the champions won’t pay off the mortgage as Neil Lennon’s boys are just 1/8 at best with Paddy Power to heap more misery on the beleaguered Jambos, bet365’s 20/1 underdogs.
The Hoops hammered Hearts 7-0 in the cup recently and they’re 80/1 at BetVictor for a repeat but punters can expect the Gorgie outfit to be a touch more resilient on this occasion so a repeat of the 3-1 Bhoys triumph from earlier in the campaign looks more realistic at 12/1 via Coral.
With Inverness and Aberdeen both right in the hunt for second spot their derby showdown takes on extra significance and as Caley Thistle have won five of their last six in the league, it’s they who are expected to emerge victorious, BetVictor installing them as 31/20 favourites.
The Dons, who shaded their Pittodrie contest 1-0 earlier this season, will have their backers at 2/1 (Betfred) but home advantage could prove crucial and the hosts stand out at 13/4 via Ladbrokes to prevail by one.
In-form Dundee United can’t stop scoring and it’s hardly surprising that they’re just 2/5 at best with Stan James to send off-colour Ross County home from Tannadice empty-handed. Possessing all the hallmarks of a home banker, the Terrors have racked up an impressive 21 goals in five league and cup assignments and they’re 7/5 at Unibet to net at least three times in this one.
Fifth-placed Motherwell will consider their home game against St Mirren as a chance to gatecrash the battle for Europe and they’re 10/11 at Winner.com to do the business at Fir Park.
St Johnstone and Hibs sit either side of the divide in the middle of the Premiership table, although Saints will move seven points clear of Terry Butcher’s troops if they triumph in the pair’s clash at Easter Road. The visitors are 6/4 at William Hill but home advantage should ensure the Hibees nick a point (5/2, bet365).
Meanwhile, neither Kilmarnock or Partick can lay claim to any kind of form at present and it’s impossible to pick a winner at Rugby Park, where they’re 12/5 with Coral to be inseparable.
