Live on Sky Sports 2: Fri 20.05: Scotland (2/1, Ladbrokes) can upset the odds as they host USA in an international friendly.
This weekend, many international teams are either attempting to qualify for next year’s World Cup or warming-up for it by playing friendly fixtures. However, where Scotland are concerned, the double-header against USA and Norway is about preparing for a serious crack at reaching Euro 2016.
The Scots finished strongly in qualifying for next year’s World Cup finals and have undoubtedly improved under Gordon Strachan so it seems a touch strange that they’re a 2/1 shot with Ladbrokes to get the better of the United States at Hampden Park.
Admittedly the visitors, 6/4 chances at William Hill, have made it to Brazil but they’re far from unbeatable and as Scotland have twice beaten Croatia in recent months, as well as giving England a run for their money at Wembley, they’re worth siding with in this one.
The visitors can’t be underestimated of course, so a few sceptical members of the Tartan Army might fancy backing the Scots at 11/10 in Paddy Power’s ‘Draw No Bet’ market.
For more confident fans, BetVictor make Strachan’s troops 17/2 to shade it 1-0, Stan James price a half-time stalemate followed by a home win at 6/1 and also at 6s, this time via betway, is an opening goal from returning Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher.
Recommended Bets:
Scotland to beat USA – 2/1 (Ladbrokes)
Steven Fletcher to score first – 6/1 (betway)
