Paul Ferguson has two racing tips for us on Sunday; Gullinbursti in the Market Rasen 2.45 and Marlbrook in the Navan 3.25. Compare odds and bet.
The pick of the action on Sunday comes from Navan, where Flemenstar is the star of the show on his first start for Tony Martin, in the Boylesports.com Fortria Chase, a race he won 12 months ago.
Exciting novice hurdler Very Wood faces a potentially smart rival in Minella Foru in the Grade 3 ‘For Auction’ Novice Hurdle. Noel Meade’s Galway winner remains a fine long-term prospect, but this is by no means a penalty kick and ‘AP’ comes over to get the leg up on Eddie Harty’s charge.
He also takes the ride aboard Marlbrook (3:25) in the 2m beginners’ chase and he can make a winning debut over fences, on his first start for Colm Murphy.
An impressive points winner, he looked a potential star when routing 11 rivals by 17 lengths and more in a Gowran Park maiden hurdle in March. Sent straight over fences now, he looks full of promise, though it is a little concerning to see the hood applied for the first time today. That aside, he remains one to keep onside and was available at 15/8 with PaddyPower this morning.
On the domestic front Gullinbursti (2:45) looks worthy of support at Market Rasen, for the in-form Emma Lavelle.
The seven-year-old showed promise in the first half of last season, notably on a couple of occasions at Exeter, and, with his stable in much better form this season, he looks on a fair mark for this novices’ handicap chase.
The ground should be decent, which will be in his favour, and it was not surprising to see him proving popular early last night – he opened up 4/1 and was attracting plenty of early support, now trading at 15/8 with Stan James this morning.
Sunday’s selections:
2:45 Market Rasen Gullinbursti 15/8 Stan James
3:25 Navan Marlbrook 15/8 PaddyPower
