Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Thursday; Down Ace in the Towcester 3.40 and Wrath Of Titans in the Thurles 3.55. Compare odds and bet.
Tony McCoy is now just one short of reaching the 4,000-winner mark, so his rides at Towcester on Thursday are bound to be well supported. The most interesting of his mounts looks to be Irish points winner Mountain Tunes who is very much one to note on his rules debut, in what looks a decent 2m5f novices’ hurdle.
The best bet on the card, however, is Fergal O’Brien’s dual bumper winner Down Ace (3:40) who looks a smart recruit and can take the mares’ maiden hurdle.
Another point-to-point winner, she made a winning debut at Cheltenham in April and the Generous six-year-old followed up under a penalty at Bangor the following month.
Over in Ireland Wrath Of Titans (3:55) is taken to land the concluding bumper at Thurles for Dessie Hughes and the Gigginstown House Stud.
The Oscar gelding won his point by a distance in March, before running a cracker to split Moyle Park and Classic Move (a winner for this column last Thursday at Sedgefield) in the Goffs Land Rover Bumper. A year younger and less experienced than the winner, it was a debut full of promise and, if he has improved for his summer break (switched to Hughes’ stable from Gordon Elliott’s yard), he sets a decent standard.
Thursday’s selections:
3:40 Towcester: Down Ace; 11/8 Betvictor
3:55 Thurles: Wrath Of Titans; 8/11 bet365
