Paul Nicholls and Daryl Jacob enjoyed a fine couple of days at Cheltenham and can continue their good form by taking the concluding novices’ hurdle at Kempton on Sunday, with the unbeaten Howlongisafoot (5:30).
The four-year-old Irish points winner was fairly impressive when making a winning British rules debut in a Newton Abbot bumper in April, having been snapped up for £75,000 a month earlier.
Mick Channon’s Warden Hill has shown enough to suggest he can land a race of this nature, but his future lies in handicaps and, eventually, over fences. Given that Howlongisafoot remains open to considerable improvement, he gets the nod to maintain his 100% record.
