Live on Sky Sports 1: Thu: 05:30 Angus Loughran previews this week’s BMW Masters & CIMB Classic tournaments
Rory Mcllroy, whose problems this season have been well documented, finished second in the BMW Masters here last year, won this event in 2011 and crucially, was a runner-up in Korea last weekend. He’s the 8/1 joint favourite with Swede Henrik Stenson to return to the winner’s enclosure this weekend and signalling a return a form, he has a great chance of doing so.
The BMW Masters certainly has a strong field; Irish Open Champion Paul Casey is clearly a player still on the upgrade after his long absence through injury and should go well at 30/1 having finished strongly here last year while Alex Noren at 60/1 looks the most appealing of the outsiders in Shanghai.
Phil Mickleson heads the market at 9/1 for CIMB Classic in Malaysia but this looks like the sort of course Rickie Fowler can thrive on and at 35/1, he looks a big price.
Nobody could begrudge Sergio Garcia a victory and at 14/1 he is also a reasonable bet this week while 80/1 shot Kevin Streelman catches my eye; he has been playing some really decent golf this year and could easily figure on a course set up like this.
Good luck
