Sat 15.00: Wigan and Reading double up in the Championship at an enticing 7/2 (Betfred) as they face Middlesbrough and Blackpool.
It has been a mixed start to the season for Wigan and Middlesbrough, who have both taken four points from their opening three matches but of the pair, it’s the Latics that can land all three points as the teams face-off at the DW Stadium.
Owen Coyle’s men, aiming for a swift return to the Premier League, enjoy home advantage but it’s their extra quality that should tell against a Boro side, who needed a last gasp leveller to nick a point at home to Blackpool last time out and who look set for another mid-table finish.
Subsequently, Betfred’s 5/6 for Wigan to secure their second victory of the campaign is worth adding to a tasty double in the Championship.
The team to put in alongside them is Reading. The Royals remain unbeaten having drawn two and won one of their trio of matches but they have class throughout their line-up and look overpriced at 6/4 courtesy of BetVictor as they visit Blackpool.
Admittedly the Seasiders are currently higher in the table after a stunning start but boss Paul Ince is acutely aware that things are going to get pretty tricky for his paper thin squad shortly and he knows they won’t be riding high towards the summit for long. Reading are more than capable of being the team that starts something of a decline for the hosts.
