Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Thursday; Luci Di Mezzanotte in the Wetherby 5.40 and Number One London in the Sandown 8.10. Compare odds and bet.
Given the way the race unfolded at Chester a couple of weeks ago Number One London (8:10) looks worth another chance in the extended 1m2f maiden at Sandown this evening, judged on the promise he showed in a decent Newbury maiden that is working out really well.
Third behind Cape Peron (very impressive in winning a Doncaster handicap on Saturday) at the Berkshire venue, the fourth, fifth and seventh all won maidens over the past week or so and Brian Meehan’s King Edward VII entry shouldn’t be too long in getting off the mark himself.
Earlier in the day Luci Di Mezzanotte (5:40) is fancied to make a winning hurdles debut for Oliver Sherwood up at Wetherby.
The daughter of Sulamani took a big step forward in a decent mares’ bumper at Taunton earlier this month, when splitting the useful The Pirate’s Queen and Welcometothejungle, and she looked a sure-fire future winner against her own sex.
