Ladbrokes offer 6/4 for all of the British teams to be eliminated from the Champions League after the draw for the knockout stage was made.
Manchester United, Arsenal and Celtic were all handed tough assignments and bookies are subsequently confident that the trio will all be knocked out.
United have the shortest odds to win the competition, at 12/1 from 10/1 via Ladbrokes, after they were paired with Real Madrid (7/2 from 9/2). Ladbrokes also offer 20/1 for Jose Mourinho to run down the Old Traffford touchline as he did when managing Porto while Sir Alex Ferguson is 100/1 to do the same.
The Gunners meanwhile, are now out to 33/1 ahead of their two-legged tie against Bayern Munich and Celtic, who are 3/1 to get past Juventus are Ladbrokes’ 150/1 joint outsiders with Galatasary.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes told Betrescue: “We’re not banking on many, if any, of the British sides making it any further in this competition. The odds now suggest the trophy is going to Spain or Germany.”
He added: “We’re licking their lips in anticipation for United’s clash with Madrid. If either of the managers end up running down the Old Trafford touchline, punters will be celebrating in the same way.”
