Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Monday; Oscara Dara in the 1.00 at Plumpton. Compare odds and bet.
Though stable-mate Malt Master failed to advertise the form of his Punchestown Festival win when beaten at Bangor on Friday Oscara Dara (1:00) is still fancied to make a winning chase debut in Plumpton’s SIS Live Novices’ Chase on Monday.
That victory had come on just his third start over hurdles, having previously won on debut at Sandown (by 20 lengths) and having finished fourth behind stable-mates Darlan and Captain Conan in the Grade 2 Top Novices’ Hurdle at Aintree.
Today’s jockey David Bass rode him at both Sandown and Aintree, so he knows the horse well and he had earlier shown smart bumper form for Alan Fleming, when winning at Southwell and chasing home another of his current stable-mates, the well regarded Mono Man, in a decent event at Ascot.
He proved he handles testing ground at Punchestown and he is given the nod over Cantlow who continues to run over a trip shorter than ideal; he’s been crying out for a step up 2m4f or further since going chasing, though he has run well in defeat on both starts to date. The selection opened up at 8/11 with Paddy Power on Monday morning
Monday’s selection:
1:00 Plumpton: Oscara Dara (8/11 Paddy Power)
