Rafa Benitez is still Coral’s 11/10 favourite to be the Chelsea manager at the start of next season despite the Blues’ 3-1 defeat at West Ham.
The loss means that the Spaniard is still looking for his victory as interim manager but Coral still fancy the ex-Liverpool boss to be given the Stamford Bridge role on a permanent basis.
Former Barcelona chief Pep Guardiola is out to 9/4 at Coral to take over for the 2013/14 campaign and it’s 2/1 for any other candidate to be given the job.
Coral’s Tim Reynolds told Betrescue, “Roman Abramovich will not have been impressed with Chelsea’s latest defeat so if Rafa Benitez is going to be appointed manager for the start of the 2013/14 season, the Spaniard is going to have to start winning matches very soon.”
“If Benitez isn’t offered the role on a permanent basis, I’m not 100% certain that Pep Guardiola would even take the job and all the pressure that comes with it,” added Reynolds.
Elsewhere, Coral also offer 1/3 that Benitez leaves Chelsea before striker Fernando Torres, an 11/5 chance, who has failed to score in his last six appearances in all competitions.
Ladbrokes meanwhile, rate Torres at 6/1 to fail to score before the new year and also make Benitez 12/1 to vacate the Stamford Bridge hotseat by Christmas.
