Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is the early favourite at 8/13 with Ladbrokes to replace Roberto Di Matteo in the Chelsea hotseat.
The Italian was relieved of his duties after his side went down 3-0 to Juventus, a result that means the Blues have now managed just one normal time victory in eight attempts across all competitions.
Ladbrokes immediately opened a market about his successor, installing both Benitez and ex-Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola at the head of the betting at 6/4 but the early money came in for the former prompting the bookmaker to cut him to 8/13.
Guardiola remains at 6/4, he’s followed by Harry Redknapp at 8/1, the same price marked against West Brom manager Steve Clarke, who has strong links to Stamford Bridge and has made a flying start to life with the Baggies.
Jose Mourinho meanwhile, is 14/1 via Ladbrokes to return to the club and skipper John Terry is a 20/1 shot.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes told Betrescue.com: “Benitez was backed into odds-on favouritism within seconds of the vacancy being announced. We expect most Chelsea fans would prefer the money to have come for Guardiola however.”
