Manchester United are odds-on in most places for the Premier League title after they came from two goals down to beat Aston Villa.
Javier Hernandez struck twice to help Sir Alex Ferguson’s charges retain top spot by carding a 3-2 success at Villa Park, prompting bookies to cut their odds significantly for the crown and Coral’s 11/10 is now the best price available.
Champions Manchester City also had to come from behind, to beat Spurs and maintain their unbeaten record, a result that saw them reduce United’s lead at the summit to two points. City are now 9/4 via BetVictor to retain the trophy.
Chelsea meanwhile, slipped up at home to Liverpool, landing just a point and bet365 have subsequently pushed them out to 4/1 in the title betting.
Even at this early stage, it looks as if that trio will occupy the top three places but the scrap for the final top four berth could be very interesting indeed.
At evens courtesy of Coral, Arsenal are still well fancied despite a 3-3 draw at home to Fulham on Saturday and Paddy Power post 5/2 against Spurs in the wake of their Etihad Stadium defeat.
Unexpectedly perhaps, Everton currently lie fourth and they’re a 4/1 shot at Ladbrokes to stay there while another surprise package, West Brom are level with the Toffees on points after an impressive victory at Wigan and they can be backed at 66/1 (Sportingbet).
Liverpool and Newcastle however, look friendless in the market at present, the Reds out to 10/1 (BetVictor) despite that decent point at Stamford Bridge and the Magpies are now 33/1 at Stan James, having suffered a home reverse to West Ham.
