Live on Skysports 1: Tues 19.45: A goal glut at Reading is the best bet in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup action while Leeds can beat Southampton.
Reading and Arsenal’s Capital One Cup clash at the Madejski Stadium is set to go the way of the visitors according to the bookmakers, Coral quoting the Gunners at 10/11 but with Arsene Wenger set to ring the changes that’s not necessarily a solid bet despite the fact that the hosts are without a Premier League victory.
The Royals are 10/3 via Skybet but they too look risky given their form as well as the fact that manager Brian McDermott will also shuffle his pack and it could be that the value lies away from the match betting market.
The hosts’ two ties in this competition both finished 3-2 and they drew three-apiece in the league at the weekend while Arsenal smashed six past Coventry in the previous round so it’s fair to assume that television viewers will see plenty of goals.
Stan James’ 4/6 for both teams to get on the scoresheet looks a banker then and BetVictor post a safe-looking 8/11 against a match tally of three or more goals but it could be worth being a touch more ambitious by tackling William Hill’s 9/2 for the fixture to throw up at least five goals in 90 minutes.
Elsewhere on Tuesday, Leeds look overpriced at 8/5 courtesy of 888Sport to get the better of struggling Southampton given that Neil Warnock’s troops accounted for a strong Everton line-up in the last round, Skybet price Aston Villa at 5/4 to edge out Swindon while Coral quote Wigan at 1/3 to get the better of League Two outfit Bradford.
Recommended Bets:
Over 4.5 goals in Reading v Arsenal – 9/2 (William Hill)
