Wayne Rooney is fancied by Ladbrokes to be the first England player to score 50 goals.
After taking his England tally to 31 following the double strike against San Marino last week, Ladbrokes are now quoting the Manchester United star at 9/2 to surpass Sir Bobby Charlton’s record and reach 50 goals for the Three Lions.
As England head over to Poland (5/2) for Tuesday’s qualifier it’s the visitors who are chalked up as the even money favourites to edge clearer as Group H leader.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Rooney’s only 26 and the odds suggest he’s on target to break the record. Poland will no doubt be a much tougher match but Roy’s boys will be full of confidence.”
