Countrywide Flame heads the sponsor’s market at 8/1 for the Betfred Cesarewitch after a maximum field of 34 was declared for the prestigious two-mile-two-furlong handicap at Newmarket on Saturday.
John Quinn’s Triumph Hurdle winner will start in stall seven whilst the heavily backed Hurricane Higgins will break from stall 19 and is an 11/1 shot with Betfred. I Have A Dream has drifted to 14/1 (from 12/1) after landing a nightmare draw in stall 36.
“Countrywide Flame is by far and away the best backed horse in the Cesarewitch this week. An outside draw could have thrown a stick in the spokes but having landed in stall seven, and the ground coming in his favour, he’s the one they all have to beat,” said Betfred spokesman Andrew Griffiths told betrescue.com
