Orfevre is now the clear favourite for the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe, at 4/1 with Coral, following his victory in the Prix Foy on Sunday.
BetVictor however, still side with 4/1 chance Danedream following Orfevre’s workmanlike success while the other trial winners, Saonois and Shareta, are both 10/1 at Coral having chalked up victories in the Prix Niel and Prix Vermeille respectively.
Coral spokesman David Stevens told Betrescue, “Orfevre is a worthy favourite to give Japan a first win in Europe’s greatest race, as connections seemed sure he would improve for his Prix Foy win, although the home defence looks far stronger following wins for Saonois and Shareta.”
