Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Friday; Sentaril in the 2.35 (York) and Golden Lilac in the 3.00 (Newm). Compare odds and bet.
After the disappointment of leaving Fiorente alone yesterday, day two at Newmarket’s July meeting is when we finally get to see the top-class Golden Lilac (3:00) in action in Britain and the French raider is fully expected to land the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes.
Regular readers of my column will know I’ve been a big fan of Andre Fabre’s Galileo filly since last May when she won two Classics on home soil and, after beating the boys on her return at Longchamp in May, she will be very tough to beat back against her own sex.
Available at 3/1 this time last week, she was sadly a best-priced Evs overnight, but that should still be taken as she is a cut above her British and Irish opponents.
Up at York there’s another useful filly on show in the shape of Sentaril (2:35) and William Haggas’ three-year-old can return to winning ways in the Group 3 Summer Stakes.
A winner on soft ground on debut at Newbury and on easy ground at Doncaster in May, she didn’t enjoy the clearest of passages in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot last time and she remains very much on the up.
The daughter of Danehill Dancer was available at 7/4 with Bet Victor early on Thursday evening.
Friday’s selections:
2:35 York Sentaril
3:00 Newmarket Golden Lilac
