Coral make Epsom derby winner, Camelot, 1-3 favourite with for Saturday’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby, where he’ll face six rivals, headed by stablemate, Imperial Monarch, at 6-1.
“Camelot is obviously the one to beat at the Curragh following his five length victory at Epsom, but we certainly don’t regard it as a one horse race,” Coral’s David Stevens told betrescue.com
“The favourite’s own stablemate, Imperial Monarch, had no luck in the French Derby, should relish the likely ground conditions and could give the favourite most to do, while the powerful yards of John Oxx, Dermot Weld and Jim Bolger are all taking on the Camelot challenge, and we certainly respect their runners,” added Stevens.
