It’s just even money with Ladbrokes that Rafael Nadal racks up French Open number 8 at next year’s Roland Garros event.
Nadal won his 7th French Open on Monday, surpassing Bjorn Borg’s 6 titles, and Ladbrokes have him down as evens fav to pick up title number 8 next June.
It’s 3/1 that the Spaniard picks up 10 titles at Roland Garros before 2020, which would firmly cement his place in history as King Of Clay.
At Wimbledon, Djokovic and Nadal share the lead in the market as joint 2/1 favs after the Serb was backed in from 9/4. Roger Federer is 9/2 as he chases a 7th British Grand Slam. Andy Murray is a 7/1 chance.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “At just 26 years-old it’s hard to see how Nadal won’t reach ten French Open titles. A Nadal-Djokovic Wimbledon final would be impossible to call, but it’s what the punters want.”
She added: “We’ve barely laid a penny on Murray’s maiden major, but a win Queen’s Club will see patriotic money flood in.”
