Paul Ferguson has another selection for us today on Friday; John Gosden’s Michelangelo in the Goodwood 15.45. Compare odds and bet
John Gosden has saddled the winner of Goodwood’s Listed Cocked Hat Stakes twice in the past three seasons and he can strike again this afternoon with the maiden Michelangelo (3:45) who carries the same black silks and yellow cap as last year’s winner and subsequent St Leger hero Masked Marvel.
The Galileo colt made his debut in a similar event at Newmarket earlier in the month, where he made a really encouraging start to his career, finishing a close up third behind Noble Mission and Mariner’s Cross.
The winner ran well behind a stable-mate of the selection, Thought Worthy, on Saturday and, assuming he has progressed from debut, William Buick’s unexposed mount looks the one to beat.
Friday’s selection:
3:45 Goodwood Michelangelo
