Stan James’s Rory Jiwani says, “The rumour mill had been in overdrive over the last couple of days and King Kenny’s exit comes as little surprise. Roberto Martinez and Frank Rijkaard had been steadily backed during the day with the Wigan boss 15/8 favourite before news of Dalglish’s exit filtered through. Since then, it’s been all about former boss Rafa Benitez who was 9/4 but is now 7/4 favourite.
“Rijkaard is 9/1 with Liverpool number two Steve Clarke a 10/1 chance. Brendan Rodgers and Paul Lambert could attract interest at 14/1 with Andres Villas-Boas the same price and it’s 16/1 bar those.
“Some interesting outsiders could be Athletic Bilbao boss Marcelo Bielsa at 16/1, Jose Mourinho at 20/1 with Pep Guardiola and Fabio Capello both available at 25/1 to take over at Anfield.”
