Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Tuesday; The Way We Were in the 17.00 at Fairyhouse. Compare odds and bet
JP McManus and AP McCoy have enjoyed a fine couple of days at Fairyhouse and they can continue their fine form with The Way We Were (5:00) in the www.thetote.com Handicap Hurdle on Tuesday.
Edward O’Grady’s six-year-old won a maiden hurdle under the champion jockey at Leopardstown’s Christmas meeting before defying his lack of experience and running fine race on his handicap debut at the same track last month.
The son of Definite Article can go down as an unlucky loser that day, as he seemed to be in front plenty long enough and, if McCoy can hold on to him for longer here, he can reverse form with Steel Park.
Looking ahead to later in the week and, as promised, here’s an update on the local weather in the Aintree area. There has been plenty of rain around for the past few days so the Grand National course should certainly be riding on the soft side when the fixture starts on Thursday, while the Mildmay track is likely to be on the slow side of good.
Tuesday’s selection:
5:00 Fairyhouse The Way We Were (5/1 Boylesports / Bet365)
