Chicago Grey has been cut to 12/1 from 16’s by Coral for the John Smith’s Grand National following more support for the nine-year-old
Always Right is amongst others backed (25/1 from 33/1), as is Seabass, 14/1 in from 16/1, and Synchronised, winner of the Gold Cup, heads the market at 6/1.
“Chicago Grey’s trainer has said his charge is ‘A Okay’, and coming from the man who won the big race in 2007 with Silver Birch, that confidence has prompted a surge of support for his runner,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
“If Synchronised bids to complete the Gold Cup/National double, then he is sure to start favourite, but if connections choose to bypass Aintree, then the betting would be wide open, and both Chicago Grey and Seabass – the possible mount of Ruby Walsh – are among the runners that could be sent off favourite,” added Stevens.
