Live on Skysports 1: Tue 06.00: England are 2/1 with Ladbrokes to win the 2nd Test in Sri Lanka; Broad is 7/2 to do the damage.
England fell short in the 1st Test and with a more notable contribution from the openers, perhaps should have won overall.
Sri Lanka, 9/4 with Betfred to make it 2-0, only need a draw (6/4, Blue Square) to win the series. They had the Jayawardenes to thanks for their runs, especially Prasanna’s stand in their second innings. Mahela is 7/2 with Ladbrokes to emulate his massive 1st innings knock with another top score.
But with England’s bowlers largely playing excellently, it’s the openers who need to contribute. Cook and Strauss notched just 67 in their 4 stands at the crease (Pietersen a further 33) which isn’t enough. Ali Cook is capable of magic, he is 7/2 with William Hill to take a top score for the tourists and it’s also 7/2, with the same firm, for Stuart Broad to roar on his return with the most wickets. Graeme Swann is a worthy favourite though at 5/2 (Blue Square).
All in all, England are just a couple of better individual performances away from a decent win, 2/1 with Ladbrokes.
