Sat 15.00: In the Premier League, Pavel Pogrebnyak is 5/1 (Coral) to score 1st for Fulham while Wigan can draw with West Brom (23/10)
Partybets offer 5/6 for Fulham to send Swansea home from Craven Cottage empty-handed but the best bet in this one has to involve Pavel Pogrebnyak. The Russian has made a flying start to life in England, firing five goals in his opening four matches and he’s 7/5 with bet365 to add to his tally at some stage while Coral chalk him up at 5/1 to break the deadlock.
Wigan and West Brom are the only other Saturday contest and Roberto Martinez’s relegation fighting Latics are 19/10 outsiders with Boylesports for three vital points.
Wigan, however, showed great fight at Norwich and perhaps should be considered for at least a point (8/15 with Skybet). Draw backers should look to Betfred’s 23/10 on the stalemate and another point for the relegation fight.
Manchester United are a banker at 4/11 via Betfred to increase their lead at the Premier League summit by seeing off hapless Wolves at Molineux. Terry Connor’s charges have lost six of their last eight and have been beaten 5-0 and 2-0 in their last couple, the latter particularly galling given that it came against fellow strugglers Blackburn in a six-pointer last week.
It’s hard to see them halting United’s title push then and Sir Alex Ferguson’s are worth an interest in the handicaps, where they’re 10/11 (Paddy Power) when kicking off a goal in arrears. Alternatively, Blue Square offer 6/4 for the league leaders to prevail ‘to nil’ and Wiliam Hill chalk the visitors up at 13/2 to notch twice without reply.
At St James’ Park, Ladbrokes’ 4/5 chances Newcastle can bounce back from their last-gasp defeat to Arsenal by beating Norwich, a 2-1 win 15/2 via Coral while Demba Ba is 6/5 with the same firm to notch another goal.
Recommended Bets:
Man Utd to beat Wolves 2-0 – 13/2 (William Hill)
Wigan and West Brom to draw – 13/8 (Betfred)
Pavel Pogrebnyak to score first – 5/1 (Coral)
