Stan James have gone non-runner no bet at the 2012 Cheltenham Festival and there have been plenty of market moves.
StanJames.com spokesman Rory Jiwani says, “There’s been significant money for Sir Des Champs in the RSA Chase with Willie Mullins’ charge 4/1 from 6/1. Owners Gigginstown House Stud also have First Lieutenant in the race and until midnight tonight we’re top price about last year’s Neptune winner who is currently available at 13/2. Grands Crus is the 11/8 favourite. Sir Des Champs is also 5/1 for the Jewson Novices’ Chase so punters can now safely back him for both races.
“Stan James have a new favourite for the Coral Cup with Ted Spread backed in from 10/1 to 7/1. Paul Nicholls’ former Chester Vase winner on the flat goes for Saturday’s Imperial Cup with connections no doubt eyeing up the £75,000 bonus for winning at Sandown and at the Festival.
“Nicholls also has a market leader in the NH Challenge Cup with Harry The Viking supported in from 8/1 to 6/1 joint-favourite. The seven-year-old beat Ikorodu Road last time out who boosted the form comprehensively with victory in Saturday’s Grimthorpe Chase at Doncaster. Harry The Viking now shares favouritism with Willie Mullins’ Soll.
“Also a bit of cash for Somersby in the Queen Mother Champion Chase with Henrietta Knight’s VC Chase winner now 8/1 from 9/1. Sizing Europe is the 10/11 to retain his crown. Somersby’s first option appears to be the Ryanair Chase for which he is a 6/1 shot behind 5/1 co-favourites Riverside Theatre, Rubi Light and Noble Prince.”
