Eyre Square, Morgan Be, Portrait King and Posh Bird are Betfred’s 7/1 co-favs for Saturday’s Betfred Eider at Newcastle in 17 entries.
Eyre Square battled hard for the Borders National win at Kelso and showed a liking for the long trip while Morgan Be, third last year, bounced back to form at Newcastle.
Portrait King took victory at Punchestown on heavy ground and Posh Bird ran well at Ayr.
“The Betfred Eider is one of the most competitive long distance chases in the National Hunt calendar and this year’s renewal is no exception, with four horses currently heading the market at 7/1,” said Betfred spokesman George Primarolo.
Recent Ayr winner Mister Marker – who narrowly beat Posh Bird earlier this month – is next in the market at 8/1 with Present M’Lord just behind at 9/1.
At the head of the Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup, Long Run has been cut to 9/4 fav from 5/2. Burton Port, runner-up at Newbury on Friday to Long Run, also caught the eye and moves into 8/1 (from 10/1).
